Do I belong?
Most of us arrive at OA after years of struggling with food, weight and body image. This was not our first choice solution, but after countless failed attempts we arrived at OA desperate for a permanent solution. You may be overweight, underweight or a normal weight. All that matters is you have a problem with food that is interfering with your life.
What happens at an OA meeting?
Everyone is welcome at any OA meeting. Meetings take place face-to-face, via phone or online. At a face-to-face meeting, you may be asked to introduce yourself by first name only and provided a Welcome Packet. You are not required to say anything and questions are always welcomed after the meeting. No one will tell you what to do and you will not be provided a diet or food plan that you must follow.
You will hear about the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions and may hear one or more readings from OA approved literature.
